Home for the Holidays

Happy Holidays from Room in the Inn – Memphis!

As we enter this season, many of us start to think about being home for the holidays. Now more than ever, we know how important it is to experience the love of family and friends in the warm welcome of our homes.

In the scriptural story of Christ’s birth, which inspired the name of our ministry, there was no room in the inn. So, the family was offered a makeshift shelter through the hospitality of a stranger to strangers.

Our mission is to change that story to one of life-changing open doors serving those experiencing homelessness.

Every day, our volunteers and staff are living out that mission through the congregational shelter ministry as well as our Recuperative Care and Family Inn programs at our new campus.

This holiday season, please consider a one-time gift or multi-year pledge that will allow us to continue to serve our guests.

As winter approaches, we will continue our work in emergency shelter supported by our many congregations in Memphis. Guests in our new facility on Ayers are experiencing Holy Hospitality every day at our Family Inn. And our new Recuperative Care program is offering recovery services for those being released from hospitals across the Mid-South.

Darren, a recent guest in Recuperative Care, quickly became part of our community.

In the comfort of his private room, he was able to heal physically but was also able to begin to set goals for the future and focus on employment. With the support of dedicated staff and volunteers his goal of permanent housing was realized.

“The staff and associates of RITI have the largest hearts in Memphis. I’ve made friends here. Not just with the residents but also with staff. I am very glad to say I know you all. It is still unbelievable.”

– Darren Cain

With your support, Room in the Inn – Memphis will continue to serve our community impacting the lives of men, women and children who are experiencing homelessness. Darren is home for the holidays!

May God bless your holidays with joy and health.

Peace,
