Celebrating RITI’s 10th Anniversary Season (November 2019- March 2020)
Dear Friends,
Join me in celebrating an important milestone for Room in the Inn-Memphis. We are well into our Tenth Anniversary Season!
This year has once again been filled with the joys and sorrows that come through relationships with those experiencing homelessness. We have witnessed new friendships blossom into long lasting life changes between our guests and volunteers. This is why we continue seven nights each week, ten months a year to come together to provide the very best holy hospitality we are blessed to give.
It is exciting to have a network of congregations that includes churches, synagogues, nonprofit agencies and an institution of higher education. As this ministry grows so does our need for building our capacity to do the work in the most efficient and productive way for our guests.
We are excited and humbled to announce that The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis has chosen Room in the Inn-Memphis to receive a grant from the foundation’s Immediate Impact Fund along with 20 other local Memphis non-profits.
This grant will allow us to move from our staff using their own personal computers, printers and tablets as they have for 10 years to funds that allow for up to date technology. This technology directly impacts our guests by allowing us to participate in the collection of data that can be invaluable for work toward housing, jobs and recovery. The grant will provide additional ways to register and orient our guests and help in the efficiency of our sheltering process between our staff and hosts sites. All of these possibilities have been needed and we are grateful for the confidence the Community Foundation has shown in our organization.
You can help us meet our goal of matching this generous $9,963 grant.
As soon as we have matching funds in hand, we can begin to implement the technology plan.
