MAKE ROOM
Your recurring gift makes a lasting impact.
OUR MISSION
Sheltering those experiencing homelessness in a safe environment of hospitality
HOLIDAY GIVING
Make it an Extra Happy Holiday Season
We know there is something special about choosing the perfect gift for your loved ones, so this year we will have a special “Santa Shop” for Family Inn and Recuperative Care guests to choose gifts for their family. Our holiday wishlist has suggested items for our guests of all ages.
Donations should be new and unwrapped. Items that are not seasonal/holiday themed can also be used as gifts for guests year-round if leftover after the Santa Shop.
Though guests are currently in shelter, many will transition into permanent housing. Consider the same gifts you like to receive and give to your children, parents, and grandparents!
Donations can be shipped or dropped off at Room in the Inn – Memphis, 409 Ayers Street, Memphis, TN 38105
MORE WAYS TO GIVE
OUR PROGRAMS
Congregational Shelter
During the most dangerous climates of the year, the community comes together. From November 1 to March 31 and May 1 – September 30, congregations become shelters of safety and rest to serve our community.
Recuperative Care Center
In 2021, RITI Memphis opened the Mid-South’s first Recuperative Care Center for people experiencing homelessness, a 21 bed unit offering recovery services for those who are released from hospitals throughout Shelby County.
Family Inn
Families find shelter and support at RITI’s Family Inn. Our staff serve as advocates with them along the journey toward sustainable housing.
ROOM IN THE INN CAMPUS
Thanks to the partners listed below and the help of our faithful supporters, Spring 2021 brought a new chapter for Room in the Inn – Memphis as we finally found a place to call home at 409 Ayers Street.
Once one of the few places in Memphis that offered healthcare to African Americans and space for Black doctors and nurses to practice, the historic Collins Chapel Hospital campus now lives on as a place of hope, healing, and holy hospitality as the home of Room in the Inn.
Still Growing
In July 2024, RITI took yet another giant leap in growth as the community gathered to celebrate the renovations of the second building on campus. “Today, we celebrate an opportunity to expand our capacity to serve families with children who come to our Family Inn on this campus for a place to breathe and a place to find new ways to navigate systems that are often beyond their capacity,” said Lisa Anderson, executive director of Room in the Inn.
